Criteria for application

The programmes available at Be Better ARE potentially the PERFECT fit for you IF...

You are female aged between 25 - 39 with a MINIMUM of 12kg (2 stone) to lose.

At present, Be Better only offers personalised female only coaching programmes for women who are looking to lose a minimum of 12kg.

If you need to lose less than 12kg then unfortunately the programmes available at Be Better are not an ideal fit for you.

There is no maximum weight loss target for someone to apply. The coaches have a vast amount of experience with working with women looking to lose 20, 30, 40, 50 and even 60kg +.

The minimum aged requirement for application is 25 years of age. The maximum age is 39

The coaches are looking to launch a coaching service specifically for men towards the end of 2019.

When you speak or act you would describe yourself as having a high level of self awareness and with each choice that you make you find yourself almost caring too much as to emotional wellbeing of others.

Even if you’re having a bad time in your personal life you tend to be guilty of wearing a ‘mask of positivity’, putting on a brave face, trying consciously to bring positive energy to every room you walk into. Hiding your problems so that you don’t ‘burden others’.

If anything, you say sorry too often, you say ‘yes’ too often, you are too nice and too giving even when the energy isn’t reciprocated and because of this you often unconsciously get taken advantage of or feel under appreciated by others.

You tend to live in a weird place between guilt, anxiety, depression and overwhelm. Feeling like you’re always giving and looking after others wellbeing, often even at the sacrifice of your own.

You are currently single.

Whilst all programmes at Be Better are completely personalised to the individual needs and requirements of each client and 95% of any given programme is delivered 1-2-1 there is a possibility that small sections of any given client programme maybe delivered in a small group based format. (Nutrition education modules etc 1-6 people)

Because of this, protecting the dynamics of any small group is essential. As you can appreciate the wants/needs/barriers of someone who is struggling with their weight and is married/in a long term relationship is completely different than someone who is struggling with their weight and single.

With this in mind, as of January 2019 the coaches at Be Better have decided to specifically work with single women aged between 25 – 39.

Because of this you struggle a lot with confidence and find yourself chronically experiencing anxiety?

Sure everyone likes/desire to be connected to others.

But we’ll have you consider that there is a huge difference between wanting to connect with others and needing to connect with others.

When someone is in a state of self loathing (they don’t like/love themselves) then they often feel worse when they are alone (feel the sensation of loneliness). There are two types of people –

1) Thos that naturally accept personal responsibility for the situation (irrespective of the barrier) and work hard to find a solution to get around the problem. They see the barrier as a puzzle that has to be solved as they are completely committed to themselves and actualising what they say they want.

2) Those that are the victim of circumstance/barrier and use it as an excuse to stop/give up. They see the barrier as a dead end and throw a pity party, pointing fingers and blaming the world for the situation. You're looking for a quick fix.

Anybody serious about losing weight understands that there is no ‘secret to success’.

With a nationwide obesity issue; the facts don’t lie – low calorie restrictive diets, supplements and quick fix exercise gimmicks simply don’t work.

Any method that requires you to do things that you don’t doing don’t work. You cannot suffer your way to success or punish yourself into prosperity.

Quick fix methods are incredibly short sighted and destined for failure.

The truth? If you want to lose weight for the last time the only way to do it is to change your relationship with food, your relationship with exercise and your relationship with yourself and this forms the very foundation of any of the coaching programmes available at ‘Be Better’

The coaches at Be Better are currently specialising in working with single women, aged between 25 – 39, with a minimum of 12kg to lose.

Please reference the criteria above for details as to why.

If you are currently married or in a relationship then a programme at Be Better is not currently the right fit for you.

You’re ‘interested’ in changing.

Without judgement, there is a huge difference between someone who is ‘interested’ in changing or ‘thinking’ about changing and someone who has made a decision to change.

Completely different thoughts that create completely different feelings that drive completely different actions that create completely different results.

If you’ve have made the decision to lose weight and you are ready to go ‘all in’ and commit yourself fully to yourself and your goals then this is the perfect programme for you.

If you’re ‘thinking’ about making a change then this is not the right fit for you.

You believe 'suffering' is the key to success.

The majority of mainstream weight loss plans and ‘diets’ are built around a philosophy of exclusion and restriction.

EXCLUSION – Cutting out your favourite foods (sometimes even food groups)
RESTRICTION – Heavily restricting calories which leaves people feeling tired, hungry and irritable.

The problem with this is that you cannot suffer yourself to success or punish yourself into prosperity.

Therefore, commonly people are only able to stick to the regime for few days, weeks or in some cases months. But eventually they fall off the wagon resorting back to their old ways.

Believe it or not – you don’t have to suffer to get what you want.

INCLUSION – No food is eliminated, demonised or excluded.

Your current thoughts (beliefs) are creating your current feelings and most importantly they are driving your current choices.

If you are not willing to open up, analyse and question your current way of thinking to upgrade your mind with new liberating and empowering thoughts – then any programme at Be Better is not ideally suited for you.

You are NOT willing to invest your time and energy into your own self care.

In our experience – It is impossible for any area of someones life to be functioning at 100% unless they are.

Every individual is at the centre of their universe.

With this in mind, it’s important to starting thinking as if you are the biggest the biggest asset

…and it’s essential that you start treating yourself like it.

Truth be told, there is nothing more important than your own physical and mental wellbeing.

Because, when you show up each and every day present, energised, healthy and happy – you show up powerfully.

…and everyone wins.

If you want to change how you look and feel you’ll need to start prioritising time for yourself and your health.

Not always easy – but always possible.

It’s essential that any participant looking to apply for any potential programme understands just how important it is that they work towards starting to find time for themselves, their own physical and mentail wellbeing and their own self care – to do the things that need to be done, to get what they say they want.

The programmes at ‘Be Better’ are built on a foundation of education and empowerment. Whilst the coaches offer an unrivalled level of help and support to all clients the truth is – they are only able to help any individual to the exact degree that they are willing to help themselves.

The coaches cannot change anyone, they can only help people change themselves.

If you want someone else to be responsible for your results – then any programme at Be Better is not best suited for you.

You think you need to be 'fit' to apply.

All personalised programmes at Be Better are built around 3 main pillars – Mindset, Nutrition and Exercise.

Whilst nutrition and mindset are the main focus there is still personalised exercise programming involved.

Rest assured, the coaches will ensure this part of your programme is personalised to your current level of fitness (whatever that may be).  Even if that means you are initially only able to walk for 10 minutes before getting breathless, no need to worry – they’ll start you where you are and build from there!

If you have any pre existing injuries please do not worry, they’ll also ensure this is taken into account when designing any exercise programme.

Without judgement, in isolation you are prone to feeling sensations of lonliness, resentment or shame.

In our experience it may be better at this stage in your journey for you to explore other coaching options to help with these negative emotions. In many years of experience we have found that people who chronically experience these emotions often have to work on deeper issues with themselves or with other people or events in their past. Their weight issues are not the problem, more so a consequence of chronically experiencing these emotions. Trying to change the symptoms whilst the cause is still alive is almost impossible.

Without judgement, You would describe yourself as a perfectionist, with an extremely high attention to detail and very competitive. With this mindset you also find that when you make an error/mistake or fail is very hard for you not to heavily criticise yourself.

If this describes you it is important to add that there is nothing ‘wrong’ with these characteristics. However due to the group based nature of some of our programmes we are working to ensure that there is empathy and connection in a group based enviroment and have found people with these personality traits to work better in a 1-2-1 coaching setting.

You are looking for a personal trainer.

Whilst exercise coaching and programming is a huge part of the ‘Be Better’ programme – this is not a personal training or group exercise service.

The personalised programmes at ‘Be Better’ are focused on coaching and mentoring. The coaches work together will all clients to not only help them achieve truly life changing results but also take them on a journey towards complete self sufficiency

Each programme is taylored to the individual needs and requirements of each and every applicant – all programmes differ in length, structure and support systems.

Delivery methods of coaching may include a mixture of ‘in person’ coaching (both 1-2-1 or even possibly small group), one to one calls via phone/skype or even both.

Frequency of coaching sessions can be by weekly, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or even in some cases quarterly.

Daily online support is included in all coaching programmes at Be Better.
